The Die is Cast

Ruminations about aging in a population that is more and more ideologically and culturally divided along generational lines, dating disasters and ongoing relationship struggles, plus many health issues are dogging my days and sapping my creative power most days in the past few years. I’ve wanted to return to blogging the whole time but have so far avoided it. Now I feel the time has come to reclaim my desire to write, to produce, to compose and to draw.

I’ve already made a headway into the micro-engagement/attention economy of TikTok by starting up a series of reviews of various Tarot decks art and iconography but I plan to be releasing much deeper and more ‘edutaining’ content on YouTube by the end of the summer.

I also have plans to remould and recompose some sound design and actual musical pieces for release, maybe on soundcloud or youtube music. And the third side of this creative triangle will be some creative writing – short stories released in episodic format in both audio and transcript form on (probably) YouTube.

It’s possible I may get into streaming some of the gameplay from my downtime on Twitch within roughly the same period but I won’t promise that yet. As that would be, at least in potential, another audience with different expectations I may postpone and compartmentalise. I’m getting better and better at drawing lines under things. You could say I’m getting older and more stubborn or that brain plasticity is weaker now with new neural pathways harder to form. Or you could say that the mind is finally starting to give birth to the soul – and what a labour that is. Either way, it’s time for taking an inventory of who I am and what I’m about in relation to the culture I live within alongside others.

Anyway, that’s my update for now. Here’s a sneak peak at a title card for my first audio, which I have already starting recording and editing.

Title Card.

It’s damn good to have my blog back. It will stop me using other people as ways to express myself. And maybe that will solve some of my interpersonal issues I’ve been having.
